Night of Hope Committee & Friends-
It is with great sadness that I inform you that Steve Ennis passed away yesterday evening surrounded by his wife Sandy, children Holly/Palmer, Jordan/Ginger, and beautiful grandchildren. Steve fought a courageous battle and certainly left an amazing legacy behind.
As you know, the Night of Hope Gala was started 7 years ago by Steve's daughter, Holly Proctor in honor of her father. In six years, the Night of Hope Gala has raised close to $3 million for ALS research. Two years ago, we created the Steve Ennis Hope Award to honor a community leader that shared the same strength, courage, and commitment to community that Steve so graciously exemplified. Steve was was not only funny, a savvy business man, devoted husband, amazing father to Holly & Jordan, and dotting grandfather to his lovely grandchildren; he was also a man of eternal hope and an advocate that TOGETHER, we WILL one day find a cure for this terrible disease. For those of us that had the privilege to meet him, we will always remember Steve for his fighting spirit and courage.
As we begin to embark on the preparation for this year's Night of Hope Gala, I hope Steve's legacy will remind us of of how important it is to find a cure for ALS. We MUST find a cure… and together, I know that we will.
