Ed began his Retail career in the 70′s, following a two-year commitment in the Army Air Defense Corps. As an ROTC graduate (University of Dayton), he assumed command of the 4th Training Battalion for F.A.W. missile-training in Ft Bliss, Texas.
As a Buyer and Store Manager he held management positions in Sears and May Company in Boston and Chicago, then moved to Atlanta with Federated Department Stores (Rich’s) in 1980. He ran the South DeKalb, Southlake and Perimeter Mall Rich’s stores until 1990, when he assumed the Regional VP Stores role for Rich’s and Macy’s South, with responsibilities in 3 states. Ed retired from Macys in 2003 and spent the next two years as an HR Software consultant for the Dovetail Group in Atlanta.
Judy is an entrepreneur, who founded the Andover Country Day School in Alpharetta in 1989 – one of the first accredited Pre-Schools in Atlanta. Since the sale of that business in 2000 she’s been involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in North Fulton, raising money for research for the 30,000 young people struck by that disease. Ed has worked in fundraising throughout his career, with Judy at CF, for disadvantaged kids in two cities, VET’s groups statewide, and as Chair of numerous United Way campaigns. Both say it is this work that’s been most rewarding.
They have two children – Lauren is the VP of the Cacique Division of Lane Bryant Stores, based in Columbus, Ohio, & Jordan is a Consultant for Accenture, who will be moving back to Atlanta this year. Ed & Judy have lived in the Windward community in Alpharetta for 17 years, and in Roswell the previous 12. Ed’s interests include mountain climbing, wilderness trekking, photography, and cycling. Judy loves to travel, and can be found on the golf course anytime a free afternoon presents itself.
